For this spot, nearly all the effects were achieved in camera. In the video above, we used liquid nitrogen to create icy blasts with an air mover. (We even tried glitter and salt. Our face masks came in handy for that.)Everything was shot high speed so we could heighten the drama, increase the sense of scale and manipulate timing in post. The lens flares were also shot practically using a high powered Xenon light fixture. The model of the glacier was constructed with styrofoam, wax and baking soda.
